Hi Mrs. Love!
I just spoke to my mom and she was telling me about your conversation today re: our "crazy" family history. She wanted me to "sign in" and get your thoughts on Nina. This topic pretty much consumes any spare moment in my life at this point, and many of my dreams! Hope all is well. I'll be in Sandpoint in about 3 weeks. The children and I are on the daily countdown now! My best, Joeli |

Hi Marianne!
How I enjoyed your presentations at the Upper Valley Young Author's Conference! You are a wit! My kids had a great time and are still talking about the fact that you interviewed Viggo Motensen. I have been reading Lessons With Love in snippets throughout the week. I believe I will borrow your idea and use "Get My Drift?" to teach adverbs in a few weeks. Thank You! I have been trying to access [www.ohwriteucando.blogspot.com] without success. It is blocked at school but I cannot seem to find it at home either. Can you give any further direction? I appreciate you sharing your teaching experiences. I can learn a lot from you. |

Hi Marianne,
Just finished "Lessons" (before sending it as a gift). I recall Bob & Linda's adoption of Sarah.. I was still working weekends at the Schweitzer shop before joining the Navy and remember thinking at the time, "What an interesting future this child faces." I was adopted at birth, and reconnected with my birth family 10 years ago. Thanks for refreshing memories of SHS and especially Bob Hamilton. His red ink bleeding all over my copy taught me how to write effectively. |

I'm interested in anything you might be able to tell me about Gertrude Racicot. Is there any of her family still living? I am a (half) second cousin. Thanks!

Mrs Love,
Hi this is Derreck Calkins. I am currently attending Weber State University in Ogden Utah. I am currently working on an undergraduate research grant proposal. I am hoping to research and write on Farragut Naval base, and it effects on the economy of North Idaho. When I began conducting research I was very happy to see your name pop up serveral times as someone who has done research on the subject. So I am wondering if it would be possible to get some help from you as I continue my research. I will greatly appreciate any insight that you can give. Sincerely, Derreck Calkins Derreck, I'll need an email address, so if you could send another brief post on the guestbook and leave your email address as you sign in (it won't show on the guestbook), I can get into my administration site and write back to you. Hi Mrs. Love.
I don't think that you know me, but my folks (Jim and Susan McNall) know you. I accidentally stumbled across your blog earlier this evening, and sent the address to the two of them. Hopefully they'll check their email and send you a message sometime soon. It's nice to know that when I miss Sandpoint too much, I can go read your blog and hear about the people and places I know and love! -Brianna |

I was surprised to see that there are over 2.5 million websites that mention you. Pretty impressive. I've been meaning to email you ever since we talked in that five star restaurant, what was the name? oh, taco bell. I keep seeing your email on the napkin I wrote it on, but now that I'm down at the school and thinking about it, I dont have it with me. If I dont hear back from you after awhile Ill try again on you email. I just wanted to say hi, and see how you were doing. I better get back to this paper I'm supposed to be writing. I have a 14 page paper on String Theory due this monday, I better get on it. Take care, I look forward to hearing back from you.

I didn't know you were a famous author until reading about you in the Inlander today!
I was one of your english studens in the late 70's and you are one of the few teachers I remember from my days at Sandpoint High. So I guess you left a lasting impression! When you had the students take turns reading from the stories we were studying, you always said my voice sounded like the narrator's voice from "the Waltons." As much as I hated reading out loud to the class, that always made me feel good. I'm really sorry I missed your reading at Auntie's Bookstore in Spokane last week. I would have enjoyed the chance to critique YOUR work for a change! HAHAHAHA I am going to go buy your book tomorrow though. Take care Ms. Love! - Miles |

Great reading in Boise!
I was happy that Debbie told me about it. Thank you! I look forward to reading your work. I will be sure to post what I think about the book when I complete it. Take care. |

Greetings from Wisconsin,
I have an old postcard of "Smoke Harbor" Farragut NTS. Do you happen to know if "Smoke Harbor" is what it appears to be - a place that was designated for cigarette smoking? I enjoyed viewing and reading your work a great deal. Thank you. Rich West |

I tried to leave a comment on your blog, but to no avail. My husband is a decendant of John A. Humbird. I found your post from 8/20/06 called a Visit with Perry. I am wondering if you know of anyone who might have some Humbird History. I am working with a woman in Mason, Wisconsin, who is no relation, but has a John A. Humbird museum in her house! She is trying to get her hands on a manuscript that J.A.H. purportedly wrote about the White River Lumber Company. I would appreciate any leads you could forward to me. Thank You!

Mrs. Love just a quick note this evening for you; I got the horses up and out last week and am having quite the rodeo in Spokane. Apparently they're not really happy being de-mustangized from their winter turn-out and being asked to actually behave and work again. Oh well, aside from a few two-footed, very elegant, get-rid-of-that-guy-before he's permanent maneuvers, we have survived to date. The polo season is almost upon us, the fields are gorgeous and drying fast and the ponies are hot and frisky. Should be a good start. I'll keep you posted. John (ps, got another, that's five now - although his name's Stetson and he's quite the gentleman, I couldn't resist)

Marianne,
My Dad forwarded on your message. I'd just like to say, every time I take a picture of my kids (which is easily hundreds of times a month), I think of you who got me started in 4-H photography. I have graduated to a digital Nikon SLR and still love to photograph everyting around me. My kids are growing up too fast. Sabrina is almost 10 and Alex is 7. They both take piano lessons and he takes drum and she takes guitar. They both play soccer and love the outdoors (big tree climbers...) I keep busy chasing them around and volunteering at school and, of course, taking pictures. Great to see you're keeping busy. Laura |
